I just built bind10-devel-20120927 from the scratch, installed it
under an empty install directory, then successfully started the main
bind10 process with a few child processes without any configuration.

Besides, the latest version (I suspect it was already the case in the
previous release too) doesn't start b10-auth by default, so it
shouldn't even bother to mention b10-auth in the first place.

These seem to suggest that something in your previous installation
caused some compatibility issue with the latest version, but without
knowing further details I cannot be sure about it. If it's totally an
experimental environment and you are okay with restarting from the
scratch, you may want to remove (after making backup if you want) the
previous install completely and install the latest version cleanly.
