I suspect it's a compiler bug.  As far as I know it should be
legitimate to get a const reference to a temporary object even if it
doesn't have copy constructor.

But I've come up with a relatively simple workaround, so I made and
pushed it (26c61ea).  It's not super trivial, but right now I'm not
very responsive so I thought it's the best way to keep the development
tree healthy.  Nevertheless it would be nice if someone could check
the proposed fix.  If it's controversial please revert the merge of
trac2098.
