It hasn't been completely free choice. We had some customer
requirements that we had to meet. I won't delve into details here, but
we had a suggestion regarding database backend.
We do plan to implement support for Postgres some time in the future.
As for the parity between DHCP and DNS I think it is not very strong
argument, as it should be possible to select backends independently.
But of course, supporting MySQL first will make some things easier,
like test farm management for example.
