ISC proposed two master theses topics that were accepted by two students
from Gdansk University of Technology. Those topics cover experimental
implementation of DHCPv6 server and clients that have minimal footprint.

The ultimate goal of this project is to develop a small implementation
that is suitable for CPE devices, yet offers stability of the full
featured BIND10 DHCP (Kea) code. This code will also be useful in other
situations where small size is a virtue, e.g. when creating minimal
distributions or ISO images.

The students involved are Dominik Żeromski (v6 client) and Tomasz
Kleinschmidt (v6 server). From the ISC side, there will be couple
engineers involved: Marcin Siodelski, myself and possibly occasionally
Thomas Markwalder. The sole manager involved is Stephen Morris. As the
code changes may affect the whole BIND10 code, other BIND10 developers
may sometimes drop a note or two.

I have just created a repository for it here:
https://github.com/isc-projects/mini-kea

It has complete history from official ISC repo. It will not synchronize
on its own, though.

Disclaimer: Although the URL may suggest otherwise, this is not an
official ISC project as it does not go through the typical ISC review
and QA process and its developers are not ISC employees. Depending on
the nature and quality of the developed code, it is likely that some of
the changes will be merged into official BIND10 repo.

Please contact me if you think you should get a write access to that repo.

Good luck with the project,
Tomek Mrugalski,
ISC
