 Just a quick ticket to use for removing ext/boost so I can have a branch
 for the minor test and patch.

 This was discussed multiple times. We do understand that Boost recommends
 staying with a specific boost version, but we haven't followed that yet
 (since we have incomplete install and don't really identify the boost
 headers anyways). For now, it will be removed.
