 No, you are right. This part of the documentation is missing. No avoid
 reintroducing this specific one, I didn't create a separate branch for
 this, but added it to ticket #172 (it has the other change regarding
 exceptions in this factory function too).

 Barring a 'added to other ticket' resolve status, I'm marking this as
 duplicate, which isn't exactly right, but as close as it gets. So please
 refer to #172 for any followups.
