Comment:

 Oh that work object sounds like exactly what we need. I'll leave it to
 your discretion whether to add that to this ticket (and do one more review
 round), or create a new ticket for it.

 The rest of the changes are fine. If the work-thingy is going to another
 ticket, I think this one is ready for merge.
