Comment:

 Added information to message.cc.

 Re configure.ac, it uses the fix Jeremy put in to temporarily work around
 the log4cxx problems (so it still accepts "--with-log4cxx", but also
 accepts "--with-log4cxx=no".  So although log4cxx can be specified, it has
 no effect. (This should avoid the need to alter test scripts for the
 moment.)  We can remove the log4cxx stuff if necessary pending the outcome
 of discussions in the Prague meeting.
