 with the current way the resolver handles configuration messages, it does
 not notice things that have not changed (i.e. defaults, on startup), and
 actual defaults are hardcoded at various places. We should change the
 handleConfigUpdate code to check for defaults (at the very least on
 initial startup).

 Leaving the hardcoded defaults in after that would probably be a good idea
 so it at least has something to fall back on.

 Oh and i suspect the same it true for auth, but i have not checked.
