 It occurs to me that this should have a !ChangeLog entry.  Suggest:

 XXX.    [func]          stephen
         Default logging for unit tests is severity DEBUG (level 99), with
         output routed to /dev/null.  This can be altered by setting the
         B10_LOGGER_XXX environment variables.
