 This is dependent on the success of ticket #898, and involves re-
 implementing logging using [http://log4cplus.sourceforge.net Log4cplus].

 (See [wiki:SprintPlanning20110503 minutes] of the 2011-05-03 sprint
 planning meeting for more context.  Also note that the files for the
 implementation of logging using
 [http://logging.apache.org/log4cxx/index.html log4cxx] are still present
 in the src/lib/log directory: these may be useful as both Log4cplus and
 log4cxx are similar.)
