Comment:

 Rather than have best practices contained in a ticket, we can put these on
 the wiki part of the Trac site.

 Further, the way we generally move forward with these things is to send
 the proposal to bind10-dev at lists.isc.org for discussion, and then if a
 consensus is reached we update our best practices on the wiki, for example
 creating a separate page listing such routines and linking to it from the
 CodingGuidelines page.

 I'm going to close this ticket, and ask that you send a proposal to the
 bind10-dev list, okay? Let me know if you don't want to do this, and I can
 pursue the idea.
