 As a side effect of replacing the boss configuration with more flexible
 one, the brittle mode disappeared. It currently can be replaced by the
 configuration (specifying each component as core). If we want it back, we
 need to reimplement the option. If we want to drop the support, we should
 eliminate the command line flag and documentation.

 But we should first decide if we want it or not.
