 Hi Jeremy,

 I've installed liblog4cplus from my own Debian packages, created from
 source
 (http://support.menandmice.com/download/bind10/log4cplus/debian/6/i686/).

 liblog4cplus is installed in /usr/local/lib

 I've tried already: reboot the machine, setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH,
 symlinking the liblog4cplus into the name requested

 creating the link solved the issue

 I will retry removing the link and report
