 We've seen this type of lettuce failure every so often

 I suspect it's more about test side issue (e.g., assuming something
 that does not always hold) rather than a clear bug in the
 implementation.  In any case, it's not good to keep receiving this, so
 I propose to take a deeper look into it and hopefully fix it in the
 hardening sprint.
