Comment:

 Sorry, but I seem to have some mental block with regard of this code. I
 can't come up with a good place to start. Maybe I could do it in the end,
 but it would take an unreasonable amount of time. Either someone else
 takes over or we'll leave it after the xfrout is refactored.
