Comment:

 I rebuilt bind10 from the scratch with GCC 4.6.3 on Ubuntu and ran unit
 tests. Tests passed.
 Since you access environmental variable directly because putenv is not
 working on Ubuntu I added the reference to python documentation that
 confirms that it may not be supported on some systems.

 If you're ok with this change, please merge.
