10:17:17.075 ERROR [b10-init.init/3811] BIND10_COMPONENT_FAILED component
b10-resolver (pid None) failed: unknown condition
That error looks bad.
> Aug 29 10:17:17 localhost.localdomain bind10[3811]: 2013-08-29
10:17:17.075 FATAL [b10-init.init/3811] BIND10_COMPONENT_UNSATISFIED
component b10-resolver is required to run and failed
But this is expected.
> Is this a bug in bind10 or did I removed the component from the package
incorrectly?
It is not about b10-resolver, but about "kind needed". It is documented
"If it is set to “needed” and it fails at startup, the whole b10-init
shuts down and exits with an error exit code." Also see
http://bind10.isc.org/docs/bind10-messages.html#BIND10_COMPONENT_UNSATISFIED
We need to better decide what "needed" and "startup" means.
