 We need to make sure we understand how the CC protocol works and what are
 the design goals, like how point-2-point communication works, how the
 broadcasts work, etc.

 AFAIK there was some wiki page about that somewhere already. It should be
 dug up and reviewed, possibly updated and clarified.
