 Is there action we need to take here?

 The GNU folks have rejected the patch. Do we want to follow the Ubuntu
 route and maintain our own fix?

 Note that I just tried this a few weeks ago on a Debian-based system
 (Raspberry Pi) and it worked without any issues.
