Comment:

 This ticket extends the functionality added with #2975. Since, #2975 was
 still in the review when this ticket was implemented, I branched off from
 trac2975. Together, #2975 and #2977 add a complete DNSClient functionality
 and it would be useful to review them together. In fact, it would be
 sufficient to review code on the trac2977 branch which includes changes
 for both tickets.
