 This seems to be problematic:

             PyObject *tup = Py_BuildValue("(ssI)",
                                           status[i].getName().c_str(),
 status[i].getSegmentType().c_str(),
                                           status[i].getSegmentState());
 }}}

 because if the state is unused, getSegmentType() throws.
