dependencies can be resolved from the package system, i.e., no dependency
 is compiled from the source.

dependencies is really a hard task.

Sure on most Linux / Unix platforms all dependencies can be resolved from
the package system, but sometimes operators need to have a minimal system
because they need to justify every single package install and need to have
a security audit of every package. In these cases all dependencies are
compiled from source to get rid of unneeded dependencies, as the pre-
compiled packages usually are compiled with a maximum of dependencies.

I agree that these installations are not mainstream. I'm pointing out a
possible issue for some operators down the road, based on experience with
BIND 9 and other infrastructure software.

The BIND 10 team needs to prioritize enhancement requests.
