 Shared memory check in `configure.ac` now completely fails on Solaris
 SPARC with any compiler. It used to work with GCC before, but with the
 requirement for a newer Boost version, even GCC fails.

 This ticket is to re-check Solaris platforms, and clearly explain what's
 the cause of failure somewhere in documentation, either as `configure`
 output or somewhere else.
