When the last ticket planned for Kea 0.8 is merged (#3360) to master we
should perform some manual tests to make sure there is no serious issue.
Example test areas:
- Make sure that kea compiles with new configuration switch --with-dhcp-
pgsql and with other switches (e.g. --with-dhcp-mysql)
- Make sure that DHCP servers start and can be configured (with
configuration manager) - specifically new features should be tried -
configuration of arbitrary subnet id. Also other features should be tried:
interface selection.
- Make sure that we can switch between backends. Last time I tried
configuration on one of the branches it didn't work properly, but likely
because of the Tom's attempts to improve python code. On master these
issues shouldn't pop up.
- Make sure that memfile really writes leases to the file. Also, that it
is possible to configure the lease file location and to disable writes to
disk.
- Also, there has been some failing unit tests on FreeBSD 10 which may
need fixes.
- It may be worth to check that D2 is working as expected. Although, this
may be less important because we recently had quite extensive testing of
D2, and there haven't been any changes introduced after that.
This testing effort is to catch !''big!'' issues. Minor issues (with
little impact) should be considered known issues and listed as such in the
release notes.
