Comment:

 Ready for review.

 Using {{{noinst_LTLIBRARIES}}} caused the tests to fail on Ubuntu.
 However, {{{nodist_LTLIBRARIES}}} worked, although I did have to define
 the variable {{{nodistdir}}} to point to the directory in which the test
 libraries are created (this was set to the hooks test directory).
