>> On testing today with the latest BIND 10 from Git, I believe the situation is about the same as it was last May, except that based on some packet tracing, it appears that "Xfrout notify <zone>" isn't working at this point. Thus I'd like to ask if this is an area that you contemplate addressing in the coming months?
> We know zone management is one of the biggest missing part in the current implementation for wider deployment. But in my understanding we don't have a concrete development schedule for it. There are some other things we should do, and it's a matter of priority.
I fully understand your need to prioritize, and would thus like to have an idea of what your priorities are, hence my question below.
>> By the way is there current documentation of the BIND 10 development roadmap? The latest on the Wiki is Year3Goals and Year3Plan, and there are no conference call notes since December of last year.
> Which page are you referring to by Year3Goals and Year3Plan? But in any case, such stale information should be updated or at least removed. I don't know if there's a published latest roadmap. I'd leave it to Shane:-)
On the main BIND 10 wiki page http://bind10.isc.org/wiki, there is a section entitled "Notes" about two-thirds of the way down the page. That is where the links to Year3Goals (http://bind10.isc.org/wiki/Year3Goals) and Year3Plan (http://bind10.isc.org/wiki/Year3Plan). I believe that year 5 will be starting this April. The next section "Project Management" has a link for "(Bi)Weekly DNS Conference Calls" (http://bind10.isc.org/wiki/WeeklyConferenceCalls).
BIND 10 testing is an enjoyable exercise for me. If I have some idea of what you're working on, I can try to test those things and not distract you with issues that aren't high priorities for you. Thanks. Jeff.
