ISC DHCP 4.0.0b2 is now available for download. ISC DHCP 4.0.0 is a
development track engineered primarily for the purpose of developing
DHCPv6 features.
This is the second BETA release of 4.0.0, which primarily fixes the
known defects that were present at the time of 4.0.0b1's release
engineering. The most significant changes were made to the client
leasing subsystem to conform to RFC3315 guidance on detecting client
network point of attachment. A full list of changes in this release
is included below.
For a complete list of changes from any previous release, please
consult the RELNOTES file within the source distribution, or on our
website:

Changes since 4.0.0b1
- A number of bugs with the internal handling of lease state on the
server have been fixed. Some of these could cause server crashes.
- The peer_wants_leases() changes pulled up from 3.1.0 were corrected,
'never used' leases will no longer consistently shift between servers
on every pool rebalance run.
- sendmsg()/recvmsg() control buffers are now declared in such a way to
ensure they are correctly aligned on all (esp. 64-bit) architectures.
- The client leasing subsystem was streamlined and corrected to account
more closely for changes in client link attachment selection.
