Well, there's a bug in socket.c as I explained, but that bug never
surfaces unless you start defining USE_SOCKET_RECEIVE, USE_SOCKET_FALLBACK
and *another* send method (not sockets), which currently no platform does.

I agree that was rather a hack, but I couldn't wrap my head around all the
structures fast enough (needed to get this running because otherwise I
can't serve some thousand clients from HP-UX).
