Looking for a configuration API

Hi,
I am wondering if anybody has done modifications to the ISC DHCP server
so that it relies on an API for all its configuration needs. I
understand that OMAPI would let me configure some objects without
restarting the server. I would still have to use a dhcpd.conf for most
provisioning. Could the OMAPI be extended for any object provisionable
by dhdcpd.conf? Would any add and delete coming through an extended
OMAPI be immediately available for processing in the DHCP server
database? Are there some dhcpd.conf objects that cannot be dynamically
configured?

I realize that these are loaded questions. Just in case, you can answer
them from your past experience. Thanks,
