how to parse the answer from res_nquery?

Hi, sorry if it is dump question. I am trying to resolve the dns name to
address using res_nquery/(MRres_nquery) from minires/res_query.c. The
comment section says  the caller must parse the answer and determine the
answer. But how do i parse the answer? what format answer is is packed?
I am getting the result in the answer buffer without any error, the
answer  length is also coming as 64.
