I have no idea how others think of this generally.

But certainly we're not the only ones running multiple dhcp
instances same server. Probably someone who is doing that
hasn't had (yet) the need to distinguish the logs so that (s)he
would know which line came to which instance. Or the ones
who are have been so lucky that they could solve the issue
with using the facilities, which did not yet run out that time.

Unfortunately we were not that lucky, and that made me think
of the matter bit further. Dunno if that was just me or if someone
has silently added same feature without posting it upstream.

I however was thinking more of maintenance burden if the
patch is not accepted then I have to patch it each time, not fun,
but will need to do if necessary.

One possibility would be of course to make it configuration file
option as each server has it's own configuration, if that would 
make it better and more suitable implementation.
