"LDAP patch" and bootp

I've looked through dhcp.schema and the LDAP patch itself and don't see
that bootp entries are supported. The RFC doesn't seem to be concerned
with bootp, either.

Do the list members know why, and whether that can be fixed? The dhcpd
documentation indicates that bootp is handled in a different way from
dhcp. Is it an architectural limitation? Or is it just that nobody's
wanted it enough to implement it?

The problem the LDAP patch was meant to address is simplifying
administration of large networks with a centralized database. Extending
the implementation to support bootp in a server provisioning environment
would address the problem more completely.
