you mean line 1971 of dhclient.c.

there's a patch submitted in our rt queue that i will look at for
3.0.2 which does exactly that.  so at least one other person believes
that works correctly, and hasn't updated me with another patch so I
must assume works well for them.  thought you would find this
information useful.

i think the right thing is to remove that dereference, and to place
a similar one above line 1949 in the same function.  if sent_options
is nonzero by the time you reach there, then dereference it before
making the new set of options...


sorry, but i wasn't aware of this bug until it was too late to
include in 3.0.1.
