Hi, (Please maintain the Cc line so our BTS is kept in the loop) I've had a bug reported against dhclient, where environment variables passed to dhclient aren't being made available to dhclient-script. Case in point is http://bugs.debian.org/279741 In summary, Debian's ifupdown makes certain configuration directives in /etc/network/interfaces available in the environment as $IF_{directive}. The bug reporter has added a metric directive, which is being passed to dhclient as $IF_METRIC. I can verify this, as the bug submitter has, by examining /proc/$pid/environ However, if one adds a "set" call to dhclient to dump the environment, there's no mention of this variable, so it's being eaten somewhere along the way. Bug or feature? regards Andrew -- Attached file included as plaintext by Ecartis -- -- File: signature.asc -- Desc: Digital signature -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFDKA7rIblXXKfZFgIRAkQjAKDVMajzVct1oPqTqFPTZUO/gSud4QCgkJ/t GmZdcBx5E9Wz7oJimbRMmho= =3/PW -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
