I'm not sure, but I think some more information is needed for us to figure this out.

What operating system are the client and server running on?

Which version(s) of the DHCP client and server are running?

What type of network are you using (Ethernet, FDDI, ...)?

Are you running a relay?

Finally, can you post the exact message from your log file?
