DNS Update failing on AAAA

I have a dyn DNS update failing,

Oct 19 07:49:52 tur-net1 dhcpd: Forward map from it026591.massey.ac.nz.
to 130.123.130.192 FAILED: Has an A record but no DHCID, not mine.

This looks normal enough but there isn't an 'A' record, there is a
'AAAA'.  Could the AAAA be meeting the requirement of the lookup and
causing the insertion of an A to fail ?
