host name

when I have following statement in the dhcpd.conf file:
   
  host { hardware ethernet 00:05:5D:80:A5:F6; fixed-address 192.168.0.20;}
   
  I can not pass the syntax check, and I can not even force to start the dhcpd.
   
  why do isc force us to add a "useless" hostname, which doesn't really affect anything, as mac address is the real identifier.
   
  by the way, adding a hostname will take me a lot of time.
