ISC DHCPv6 client and server on the same link

Has anyone tried to setup an ISC DHCPv6 Client to obtain a *global* unicast
IPv6 address when the ISC DHCPv6 server and the client are on the same link?

Consider the following configuration please.

default-lease-time 900;
option dhcp-renewal-time 300;
option dhcp-rebinding-time 480;
preferred-lifetime 600;

subnet6 2001:558:ff10:0808::/64 {
        range6 2001:558:ff10:0808:0000:0000:0000:0000/64;

send dhcp6.oro 3;

My expectation is that the client would be assigned an address from the
subnet6 range.
