near-future for 3.x ??

I like what I have read about 3.1.0, and I'm thinking I'll
wait for 3.1.1 or 3.1.2 (or maybe 3.2.x for that matter)
before upgrading from 3.0.4.  But I'm wondering if such
releases are likely to occur.

How much development will be in 3.x before 4.x takes over?
