Yes, the server is also Solaris (Sol10).
And you're right, it seems, the offer packet isn't going out (even if
the log says it is!):
root at ny1p0117inf:/root# snoop -d bge0 0:3:ba:e1:9d:23
Using device /dev/bge0 (promiscuous mode)
OLD-BROADCAST -> BROADCAST DHCP/BOOTP DHCPDISCOVER
OLD-BROADCAST -> BROADCAST DHCP/BOOTP DHCPDISCOVER
OLD-BROADCAST -> BROADCAST DHCP/BOOTP DHCPDISCOVER
As you can see, it's on a bge interface.
If I stop 4.0.0 and restart 3.1.0 on the server, then the snoop looks
like this:
OLD-BROADCAST -> BROADCAST DHCP/BOOTP DHCPDISCOVER
ny1p0117inf -> sydney-new.ny.dresdner.com DHCP/BOOTP DHCPOFFER
OLD-BROADCAST -> BROADCAST DHCP/BOOTP DHCPREQUEST
ny1p0117inf -> sydney-new.ny.dresdner.com DHCP/BOOTP DHCPACK
So, any workarounds to this problem?

Hi,
Is the server also a Sun? I have noticed that 4.0.0 seems to have some
issues with Solaris interfaces. Make a network trace and see if the
offer packet is actually going out, even if the log suggests otherwise.

reason, where previously (v3.1.0) there was discover->offer->req->ack,
now there is only discover->offer (and therefore the client doesn't get
the IP correctly). See log below. Is this a bug in 4.0.0?
(Client is a sun v240, latest bios/obp, on same subnet as dhcpd
server).
