	Indeed.  Here is where a server option (global, over-ridden
	per-subnet) to 'recognize the UID as the junk it is and make
	it as if absent' would be useful.

	Formally, this could be seen as a shim relay, compensating
	for the operational reality on the network, and protecting
	the _fully_compliant_ server from misleading data.
