Your /bin/sh is not compatible with autoconf-2.59's idea of /bin/sh.
In particular it seems to think that "case `embedded-command` in ..."
is invalid syntax...which, although obtuse, it really shouldn't be...
Is there a bourne-compatible interpreter you can use?
