Upgrade ISC DHCP question

I am running version 4.0.0rc1.  I am going to upgrade to 4.1.1 to use
the new feature - prefix delegation.  According to the readme file, I
need to "save" the older version of ISC DHCP server.  

How do I "save" the older version ?  Can I not "save" the older version
and run "make install" ?  Will "make install" overwrite the existing
version of the ISC DHCP files ?
