Personally I think apparmor causes more trouble than it's worth. I
am however in the minority.

Is this a dhcpd you compiled or one that came with Ubuntu? If the
latter, submit it as a bug. If the former, you can build your
own apparmor profile, or alternatively use the ISC dhcpd which
comes as part of Lucid which should have the apparmor profile in.
