dhcpctl - open connections to dhcp server

Hi all,

I m programing dhcpctl to check some leases (c program).

After some time running my program can't open files... i found with strace that this situation is happening because the connections os dhcp server are still open.
After a socket creation and all the queries done the socket its not close...i had a look to the main page (http://linux.die.net/man/3/dhcpctl) and i didn't find any way to close the connection, is there any?

(Other thing is that i open a new connection to dhcp every time that the function is called or use just one.)
