query in relay concept?

Hi all,
If DHCP is running in relay mode, both server and relay are in different subnet.
Whose subnet address the client will acquire? Whether server subnet address or relay subnet address.
I would like to know whatever the situation whether relay or server mode, whose IP address client will get.
