Fixed address inside dynamic range

I have a pool of dynamic addresses:

   pool { range; }

I also have fixed addresses inside this range, ex:

   host NAME                 {        hardware ethernet XXXXXXX;
fixed-address;           }

 From what I've researched on google, it seems my only option is to
break the range to:

  pool { range; range; }

Isn't there any option so the dhcp server doesn't give a dynamic client
one already used fixed address? It would be a real pain to reconfigure
all my networks (which have lots of hosts inside dynamic range), also we
would like to have the freedom to, easily, reserve any IP inside the
dynamic pool.

Any thoughts?
