Hi,

why don't you restart the dhcp-server:

sudo service isc-dhcp-server restart

or

sudo service isc-dhcp-server6 restart for IPv6

greetings

Sebastian

Is there a way to reload the config in ISC DHCP 4.6.2 without actually
killing the process?

If so, would that avoid the problems caused by the "gentle shutdown" in a
failover configuration?

Patrick
