Client ID is set in System Preferences --> Network -->
(select interface) --> Advanced... --> TCP/IP tab.

Even more interesting is the question - if that is blank, what is
used for Client ID? difference between OS releases, between EFI
versions?<br>

OSX comes with a blank Client ID field in the network settings.<br>
